spring 2013 trends

What better way to celebrate the welcoming of spring than talking about spring fashion trends! I have been really excited about this post for a while now because I am obsessed with this season's fashion. obsessed. I love spring. It proclaims new beginnings, sunrises, and fresh outlooks. After a long (and might I say very cold) winter, I am definitely ready to welcome the warmer weather and the fresh fashion trends that come with it!

Graphic Black and White
This trend was literally made for me. If you know me well, see me often, or have ever shopped with me, you would know that most of my closet consists of black and white (mostly black, but still). I find it timeless, elegant, and classy. I love the graphic look as well along with the (my) signature black and white colors. It gives a way of taking staple colors and making them really interesting. For instance, mixing prints or choosing a bold pattern. Here are a few of my favorite looks:

Oscar de la Renta: I'm so obsessed with stripes (also a spring 2013 trend) right now. This look is perfection, love the statement necklace with this amazing gown.

Balmain: Love the checkered look and the structure with the always recognizable Balmain touch.

BCBG Max Azria: love the detail on this dress and how it integrates the cut out trend as well.

Chanel: Love the daring mixture of texture and patterns! Also combined with the super popular leather trend!

Victoria Beckham: simple, chic, and elegant.

Victoria Beckham: I'm crazy about these pants..like I want them!

Christian Dior: Love the all black for Spring as well! This look is one of my favorites from all the shows..perfect tailored look, feminine and playful cut of the skirt, and gold accent belt.

Florabunda
I must say I got this term from Lord and Taylor, and just love it. If you get a chance, read this spring fashion article. It's perfection. Anyways, floral for spring is really no surprise, but it is a classic spring/summer staple and can be brought out in so many ways depending on color, vintage or modern look, and structure of the piece itself. So girly, so sweet, so fun.

Chanel: love their 3-D take on this trend..so much texture.

Christian Dior: a modern take on floral

Free People: I love this look...so romantic and sweet!

Ralph Lauren: They nailed this look with their Spanish theme for this spring! Love, love, love!

Valentino: amazing detail in this dress!

Global Chic
Love this trend. Definitely something bold and colorful to try this season. Travel inspired, boho prints with modern structure, here are a few of my favorite looks. I think Dolce and Gabbana's bold colors and prints are great for this trend!

Dolce & Gabanna:

Love how this looks like coffee bean bag!

Mixed with the stripe trend..

Roberto Cavalli: Here is a more subtle pastel take on the trend:

Givenchy: This kind of graphic print also reminded me of Givenchy! Here are a few looks:

An easy way to incorporate this trend into your wardrobe is by some great accessories, especially scarves! If you're not ready for head to toe print, try adding a touch to basic white pants or solid colors on top or bottom, or even some fun shoes!

Givenchy:

Sweet Chic
One of my favorite looks..so girly and classic. Lace & pastels are all the rage this season, and not just shirts or sweaters, don't be afraid to go head to toe pastel/white. Pumps, bows, and light springy colors can make any outfit the perfect spring look.  Incorporating a light palette into your winter wardrobe is a great way to transition into spring. Bright hues are also in this spring. I personally like to add them as complimentary colors to my outfit, but don't be afraid to slip into that bright and bold dress to welcome the warm weather! Im kind of doing two trends in one here because this is (yet again) a really long post ;)

Head to Toe White: (with touches of lace/texture)

Roberto Cavalli: love everything about this!

BCBG Max Azria:

Balmain: Tailored is a staple trend this spring. Another trend in this look is the crop top!

Valentino:

Here is my Polyvore creation of the all white trend with accents of pastel! To see where all the pieces are from, click here.

Pretty in Pastels:

Chloe:

Roberto Cavalli:

Haute Hues:

Lanvin:

Ralph Lauren: love their mix of bold colors with black!

And basically, Gucci wins for the haute hues trend!

Crop tops-cutouts and Short Suits are also spring trends! So many options..what's your favorite spring trend?

Sorry again for the super long post but I just get carried away!

Happy Spring Trending! XOXO
